Protecting Decorative Surfaces

  • Provide plate length, width, thickness, material, finish and acceptable contact points.
  • Guides and flights should maintain orientation without scratching painted, polished or brushed surfaces.
  • Protective film, interleaf or tray requirements must be defined before selecting the infeed.
  • Sharp corners and raised decorative features should be checked against the film and forming path.

Film and Seal Configuration

  • Confirm transparent or printed film, thickness, friction and required scratch protection.
  • Bag dimensions should prevent excessive movement while leaving the end-seal area clear.
  • Eye-mark control is required when printed artwork must align with the faceplate.
  • The forming box and guide set may require change parts for different plate dimensions.

Color alone may not change the machine, but surface finish, friction, scratch sensitivity and dimensions can change guides, film and settings. Samples should be tested.
