HFFS vs VFFS Packaging Machines
HFFS moves individual products horizontally through a flow wrapper. VFFS forms bags vertically around measured granules, powders or liquids. The right choice depends first on how the product can be handled—not on the acronym alone.

Choose an HFFS Machine When
- The product can be spaced and carried horizontally.
- A tight pillow pack around a solid item is required.
- Continuous product presentation and high throughput are priorities.
- Product length and orientation must remain controlled.
Choose a VFFS Machine When
- The product can be dosed by weight, volume, auger or pump.
- Loose food, granules, powders or frozen products fill from above.
- Multiple bag lengths or fill weights are required.
- A compact vertical machine footprint is important.
How to Select the Right Packaging System
1. Define the productRecord dimensions or fill weight, flow behavior, fragility, temperature and hygiene requirements.
2. Define the packConfirm bag dimensions, film structure, seal style, coding and optional gas flushing.
3. Verify with samplesTest the real product and film because rated speed alone does not confirm stable output or seal quality.
